Area residents shed more than 300 pounds Star News
“I Lost it at the Club!” ran from Jan. 18 through April 12. During that time, each participant was responsible for their own weight loss with three weigh-ins and prizes for those who lost the most.
When people signed up their measurements were taken, including their body fat percentage. They were also taught the basics of weight loss and working out.
From there it was up to them to do the work, but Branjord was always available to answer any questions that would come up along the way.
The 18 participants, which formed nine teams of two, competed individually and as a team. The overall winners were figured based on percentages of their loss, and not the actual numbers.
Andrew Sassaman, 35, and Todd Dosch, 49, both of whom work in Elk River, were the 2010 team winners.
Combined they lost 59 pounds, 12.2 percent body fat and more than 40 inches.
